The motto of the Club is "Serving the community's greatest needs" and in our 41 years we have very much honoured that objective. The Kindred Spirits Dragonboat Racing Team was founded in 1999 and continues close ties to the Club, including support of the hockey tournament. Kindred Spirits has evolved into a club of its own - visit their website now! Our major projects include the following; · - The annual Terry Fox Marathon of Hope in Bolton - The annual Rick Hansen Man in Motion run in Bolton - The annual Bolton Santa Claus Parade that draws over 40 parade entries and thousands of spectators - The annual Tyke Hockey Tournament - Electoral debates at municipal, provincial and federal levels as they occur
- Contributions to community needs like sports facilities (1st donation to the building of the Bolton-Albion ice rink, donation of the ice making machine, $30,000 in donations to the Caledon Wellness Centre), emergency equipment (ambulance for Emergency Services, portable defibrillator for Fire Dept.), support of seniors' centres (donation of a handicap bus, wheelchairs and monthly bingo game) and other needs as these have been requested and approved. - Support for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation. This is our national cause and our own club has raised and donated over $100,000 since our involvement (over $30,000,000 by Kin at the national level). · - Donations of use of The Kin Centre, a building renovated by the club as an excellent meeting facility we maintain for the community. Bottom line, The Kinsmen Club of Bolton has a track record of running major community events and projects spanning 41 years.
