August 16th, 2010

Fellow Kin of District 8,

As the summer starts to wind down and the days grow shorter, our thoughts turn to our clubs and communities and what we can continue to do for them to make this great country a better place to live.

I will be attending National Convention in late August in Halifax and will provide an update upon my return.

There have been some losses of clubs prior to the end of the KIN year and I would encourage you to visit the District website www.district8kin.ca, and to view the message from our District Membership Director. He will be attending KIN Kollege in Durham Zone along with myself in October, to present his program as well as to answer any questions and to provide support.

While you are visiting the website I would also encourage you to view the District Service page to learn how our Service Director is trying to make difference (with your assistance) to create new projects.

Our TEAM is available to attend any of your events and to help support your club / zone.

As a Past Governor once said “We are the caretakers of the District”, what transpires and how we move forward as a whole is based on YOUR input, and we encourage any and all dialogue with you. Enjoy the rest of your summer and remember in January how warm it was in July and August.
Yours in Kin,
Len Ptak
Skipper
Governor District 8 2010-2011
