Thieves stole about $4,000 worth of fireworks, a new cash register and a Porter Cable 2500W generator with a small two-wheel hand truck from the trailer, police said. Every year, the Keswick Kinsmen sell fireworks and use proceeds to support sporting groups, the Santa Claus parade, school events and other community needs. “This is our one major fundraiser for the season,” Kinsmen Wayne Hoult said. “This is a crime against you, the community and, because of this, those who are most in need will not be receiving our assistance,” he added. He urges anyone who might know what happened to speak out. “Show (the thieves) that you will not tolerate acts of crime against you,” Mr. Hoult said. If you or anyone has information leading to the return of any of these items, call the York Regional Police at 905-830-0303, occurrence number 10-138517. |
