[edit] About the Lindsay Kinsmen Club

2011/12 Kin year commenced Thursday Sept 15th, being our installation night too. General Meeting's on most part are held at the Lindsay Golf and Country Club, 282 Lindsay Street South, Lindsay On. http://www.lindsaygolf.ca/ . Executive meetings are the 1st Thursday of every month, location to be advised by club president. Meetings are often a theme fitting for the season. Includes local guest speakers, and 2 X a year a interclub with our Peterborough club makes for great partnering with our neighbours.
Heading into the club's 65th year, we enjoy a membership right now in the 20 member range. Yearly activities include Video Dances, New Years Dance, Toll Road, Bar tending services for a variety of local events, and our biggest event the Annual Kinsmen Toy Drive that has been in existence for 64 years(''see Zone C for more info').

''Join Us:' Lots of fun, with several social events and a great group of guys and their spouses. All welcome.

[edit] Lindsay Road Toll

The Kinsmen Club of Lindsay’s Annual Toll Road will be held May 5th. Past events have been a resounding success due to the generous support from residents & tourists alike donating their change towards support of finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. As a result of this fundraiser we are pleased to advise, the Lindsay Kinsmen will be donating           $ 2500.00 to Cystic Fibrosis. Regardless of some drivers commenting that a lot of groups were looking for money that day they still generously donated. For the year of 2010/11 donations made from the Kinsmen Club of Lindsay were: $ 10,000.00 to Humane Society of K.L., $ 1000,00 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes, $ 500.00 to Kawartha Lakes Food Source, $ 1500.00 to Scouts in City of K.L. & many more.

In September the Lindsay Kinsmen Club  installed a new executive for the 2011/12 year, headed by President Don Heaslip. The out going President Jim Brought was very pleased with how 2010/11 went, with a key factor being the support provided for the community. In addition to being able to make donations financially we also had a very successful Christmas Toy Drive. What a thrill for us to pass on the toys generously donated by our community to make Christmas a bit better for close to 900 children! Led by our chairperson, Kelly Parker this project is a great example of our efforts supporting the Kinsmen Organization’s motto “Serving the Community’s Greatest Need”.

We are so fortunate in this community to have a variety of service clubs. One of our challenges along with other service organizations is being able to maintain and grow our membership. We encourage interested local community members to ask us what else we do to support our community, and how membership can benefit you. For more information please email us at: lindsaykinsmen@hotmail.com.

[edit] Proud Past Sponsors of the Lindsay Kinsmen Band

The Lindsay Kinsmen Club in February 1955 made the decision to give financial support to what was known as The Lindsay Boys Band. This took off some of the financial pressure they were experiencing and at that time the Band was re-named.
Although the Lindsay Kinsmen Band has disbanded; we are proud of our involvement in this organization. It has produced so many past members that have gone on to achieve great things
