[edit]     Meet & Greet the Sutton Kinettes ~ January 18 2012 at 7:30pm

If a group that combines friendship, community involvement, networking and laughter sounds appealing to you then come out the evening of Jan 18th to the Sutton Kin Hall at 7:30 to meet the Sutton Kinettes to learn more about the club and its programs.

The Sutton Kinettes, which was formed in 1959, has an age range of women from those in their 20’s up to those in their senior years. There are business women, stay at home mom’s and retired and semi retired women from all over Georgina. What they have in common is a desire to make a difference in their local community and beyond. Meetings are held once a month and are a chance to plan events and activities all while socializing at a local restaurant over a delicious meal.

Joining the Kinettes is an opportunity to meet and network with other women from not only Sutton but Keswick, Pefferlaw and all places in between, assist in fundraising for local and national organizations (Cystic Fibrosis) or perhaps to take on a leadership role to enhance your personal skills and of course to enjoy the new friendships that will be formed.

Come out on Jan. 18th at the Kin Hall (beside the Sutton Curling Club at the Sutton Fairgrounds) to find out how what a difference you can make in your life in 2012 with the Sutton Kinettes. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Sutton Kinette Club: (from left to right) Cathy Loitsch, Anne Eecloo, Heather Dunn, and Shirley Heaps organized the Portrait of Honour Wall and raised $20,000 through a fundraising dinner and dance for the Military Family Fund.
The wall honoured the soldiers recently killed in action as well as being a tribute to all veterans.
Deputy Mayor Danny Wheeler told the audience: “These ladies will be quick to say that many others were involved to make this event a success, however, without them the event would not have been such a success.”

The Sutton Kinettes held their Giant Fireworks Fundraiser for 2010 in the Shoberry's 2 parking lot. All the profits raised from the event go back into the Sutton community to help those with the greatest needs. On April 4, 2009 the Sutton Kinettes celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Club. The turn out was strong from the family of Kin as well as family members for the surprise Life Night for Shirley Heaps.
