2012 March - Spring Conference "Back To The Basics"
The first year in some time that Zone Algoma Rainbow has had 100% attendance. All four clubs showed up and were presented. DG Darrin Bolger did an amazing job, and everyone who played a part was great. The Kin Club of Valley East hosted yet another very fun event, their traditional Valley style way. Thank you all for a great conference!
2011 October - Portraits of Honour Tour
The three club Sudbury Kinsmen, Walden Kinsmen and the Kin Club of Valley East held a very successful Portraits of Honour Tour in Sudbury. This great cause raised several thousands of dollars for the military families fund and wounded warriors. What a great cause and it was nice to have all three clubs working together for a common cause.
2011 Spring Zone
The Kin Club of Valley Hosted Zone B Algoma Rainbow Spring Zone.
There was a lot of good information presented at Spring Zone again this year. I will never understand why more members don't take advantage when it's right in their back yard. Great job DG Bob!
We also had 3 new members installed into our club...a very warm welcome to Kin Janelle, Kin John and Kin Liane.

'National Presidents Sean BBQ'
On Aug 12, 2010, the Kin Club of Valley East hosted John Howard Appreciation & Kin National President BBQ.
It all happened so fast Kin Jeanine was contacted by National President Sean Thompson. He would be in Sudbury, could she arrange for a getogether maybe a B.B.Q. Kin Jeanine went right to work and thought this would be a great opportunity to thank the John Howard Society for all the manpower they supply to us during our Fireworks Sales.
In just over a week she had arranged for the John Howard Society, Ted our Fireworks Supplier, Ron Depuis the Deputy Mayor, some of our Youth Group, some potential new members, members of the Sudbury Kinsmen and ALL of our Club members. It was over 50 people in attendance. Everything went off without a hitch. We had social time, B.B.Q Pot Luck with so many wonderful dishes. No one went away hungry.
After dinner Kin Jeanine and President Manon made presentation to our guests.
Thank you to all who attended our John Howard Appreciation & National President BBQ! It was successful and I think everyone had a good time despite the heat! National President Sean it was an honor to have you visit with your lovely family! John Howard Society THANK YOU for all your help over the years! Sudbury Kin Club thank you for attending.... Kin Club of Valley East ...WE ROCK!!!

Great Strides Walk in Sudbury
Sunday May 30, 11:00am - 1:00pm Bell Park Great job Tammy on the walk. Tammy is a C.F. Aunt to a 18 month old C.F. child. She took this project which has not been held in Sudbury for several years made it a huge success. She contacted me (Paula) and asked if the Kinsmen and Kinette’s in the area could help... How could we say no? The Kin Club of Valley East ran the BBQ for the day and all proceeds went to the walk. Almost $10,000.00 were raised this year and we are expecting it to only get better next year. Thanks again Tammy you did an amazing job.

Social
But as we all know business is not the only reason to go to conventions and interclub’s. It is the Fellowship and I can personally say there was lots of fellowship in the evening. There were 26 people registered for Spring Zone and EVERYONE stayed for the fellowship afterwards. That is 100% participation. I am happy to say New Member Kin Chantal form the Kin Club of Valley East came in 1st place, Kin Brad from the Sudbury Kinsmen Club came in 2nd place and Kin Paula (that’s me) came in 3rd place. Part of the Spring Zone registration included $5.00 from each member to be donated to C.F. in the name of the winner. Therefore $130.00 (35 shares) will be written in the name of Kin Chantal.
Zone Interclub Dinner Meeting Feb. 4, 2010
At the beginning of February we had a Zone Inter-Club Dinner Meeting. There was representation from all Clubs.
President Dave from the Sudbury Club chaired the meeting. The agenda consisted of Governor Ed, Membership Director Jeanine, District C.F. Rep Bob and myself as Zone CF., and a member of each Club gave a status of their Club. Kin Bob spoke on C.F. and I spoke on Service. If any of your Zones have the opportunities to get together like this do it. Everyone had a great time and we were able to address several different visits all in one night. This is the second dinner that our zone has done this year and hopefully not the last.
