The Sutton Kinette Club trio of Heather Dunn, Anne Eecloo and Cathy Loitsch organized the Portrait of Honour Wall and raised $20,000 through a fundraising dinner and dance for the Military Family Fund.
The wall honoured the soldiers recently killed in action as well as being a tribute to all veterans.
Deputy Mayor Danny Wheeler told the audience: “These ladies will be quick to say that many others were involved to make this event a success, however, without them the event would not have been such a success.”

PARRY SOUND
It was raining, but that didn’t dampen pub putters’ drive to fundraise. The 20th annual Kinsmen Pub Putt for Cystic Fibrosis was held Saturday with a record turnout of 70 golfers raising $20,000.

This was Richard Land’s first year. “My buddy said we should come do it for a good time, so I decided I might as well,” he said. “It’s mini-golf, I like mini-golf.” Not far from where Land stood was Lori Campbell, who was ready to putt for the third consecutive year. “My dad is a Kinsmen and we fundraised at my store, too,” she said. The six-member family team raised $250. Andrew Tuck raised $2,100 to lead the way.

Putters went around to eight businesses, both in town and as far away as Bass Lake, to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis. All funds go to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
